The ARC Data Cable Comb is a ‘must have’ tool for anybody installing Cat5e and Cat6 cables. It has a hinged design with a quick release, meaning that the Cable Comb can be used to quickly dress the cable bundles in to IT and Communication racks.
The RJ45 plug used for ethernet cable termination is of paramount importance. Its 50 Micron (µ) connector has long been the standard across the UK. However, cheaper inferior products using as low as 3µ gold flashing are now starting to be promoted and this is a big concern when you consider the longevity of your installed cabling system.
The C15 power connector is not too dissimilar to a C13 connector, but has a small notch at the bottom, under the earth pin. Historically, the C15 3 pin power connector was used only for high voltage devices, hence often referred to as HOT conditioning. However, it’s now becoming the IEC connection of choice for many of the switch and server manufacturers, including Cisco, HP and DELL.

Fibre networks provide the capability of transmitting Ethernet traffic from A -B using light technology. Fibre usually has a speed benefit over Copper cabling. It’s also a flexible, space saving and cost effective alternative. Most fibre patch cords in the market today are Duplex, providing simple two way communication with fixed adapters at each end. Those adapters plug in to fibre patch panels and the other ends are then plugged in to SFP Transceiver modules installed in switches, servers and other hardware. These patch cords can range from a small cabinet fibre patch of just 25cm or up to 50+ metres in length are available in both Single and Multimode variants.
